1. Why does SMOVENGO use cookies?

Definition of a "cookie" and its use: A "cookie" is a text file placed on the User's computer when visiting the platform. On the User's computer, cookies are managed by their internet browser.

The cookies on the Site https://www.velib-metropole.fr/ do not contain data that personally identifies the User, and are designed to be used solely by the company SMOVENGO.

SMOVENGO uses cookies on its websites https://www.velib-metropole.fr and http://blog.velib-metropole.fr/ (hereinafter the Sites), as well as on the Velib' application (hereinafter the Application), for the purposes of User navigation, and for the optimization and personalization of its Services on its Sites and applications by remembering their preferences. Cookies also allow SMOVENGO to see how its Sites and applications are used.

SMOVENGO automatically collects Users' IP addresses and information relating to the use of its Sites and applications. SMOVENGO's platform can thus remember Users' identity once a connection has been established between the server and the web browser. Information previously provided in a web form may thus be retained.

2. Different types of cookies are used on SMOVENGO's Sites and applications:

Some cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of its platform. They allow Users to use the main features of its platform (for example, access to their account). Without these cookies, Users will not be able to use its platform normally.

So-called "analytical" cookies: In order to improve its Services, SMOVENGO uses audience-measurement cookies such as the number of page views, the number of visits, User activity, and their frequency of return, notably through Google Analytics services. These cookies only allow the establishment of statistical studies on User traffic on SMOVENGO's platform, the results of which are entirely anonymous, to enable SMOVENGO to understand the use and performance of its platform and to improve its operation. Accepting these cookies is a necessary condition for using SMOVENGO's platform.

Functional cookies: These are the cookies that allow SMOVENGO to personalize Users' experience on its platform by remembering their preferences (such as social media site sharing cookies). These cookies may be placed by a third party on behalf of SMOVENGO, but that party is not authorized to use them for any purpose other than those described.

3. Duration of cookie use.

"Temporary" cookies: This type of cookie is active in the User's browser until they leave the Site and expires if they do not access the Site for a certain given period.

"Permanent" or "tracking" cookies: This type of cookie remains in SMOVENGO's browser cookie file for a longer period, which depends on the settings of the User's web browser. Permanent cookies are also called tracking cookies. The settings of the User's browsing software make it possible to be informed of the presence of cookies and, if desired, to refuse them.
